Meet Amina

Amina is the oldest in a Kuridsh family of three. Music is very important to them and she is learning the piano. Before she was gifted a keyboard, she practiced at home each week on a paper keyboard she made to mimic the keys of a real piano. She had a big recital last spring and hopes to be good enough to play for her church. Amina has been on a journey of getting better and growing up since she began ALC in 2nd grade; now she's ready for 6th. Each year she earns student of the month at least once and she is committed to improving. She remembers her Arabic teacher praising her because she was really good at spelling. In her English classes she carries a little notebook to write down all the new words she doesn't know so she can learn them. ALC helped her a lot by making learning fun using different activities. She wants to be an interior designer when she grows up. She wants to make homes look nice and design creative rooms. Amina thinks being honest and kind is really important, and that's how she sees herself.
