Meet Bouthayna

Bouthayna is new to ALC this year and is very excited to start 6th grade again after taking a break from school. She says she’s happy to study again and hopes to do well just like she did in 6th grade while she was in school, when she was one of the top three in her class. Her best subject is English because she likes it a lot and knows it’s important for school and life. She believes English can help her wherever she goes. She is also part of the basketball club, even though she is a quiet and shy person. At her old school, she had many friends who loved her calm nature. Bouthayna is very good at cooking, especially pasta with tomato sauce. At home, she has four siblings. Three of them are working. Even though she doesn’t always enjoy sitting with her family and prefers to be alone, she loves her mom very much and cares deeply about her. She dreams of becoming a lawyer one day to help people who are falsely accused find justice, like she sees on social media. She also thinks being an air hostess would be fun so she can travel and see beautiful places like Switzerland, where some of her relatives live. Bouthayna's family has been living in Lebanon for 14 years, and she has never visited Syria. Her friends say she is calm and quiet, but they still enjoy being around her and helping her whenever she needs something.
